Are You Where You Thought You’d Be?

where.jpgThink back to the months before your graduation, the dreams you had, the art you produced and where you are now. Are you where you thought you’d be? Like to start over again? We can’t turn the clock back, but we can help someone else on their journey into the world of visual communication.

The 2008 BootCamp/Student Portfolio Review, sponsored jointly by GFAF and AIGA, offers college students the opportunity to have their work reviewed by professionals in their fields. They get an objective opinion. We get to see who’s out there and what they’re doing. More than that, we have the rare opportunity to lend hindsight to kids who will listen (because they’re not our own, of course). It’s an opportunity to tell someone else what you wish you would have been told…or to share the inspiration that someone might have once shared with you.

If you haven’t already, volunteer to mentor the next generation of artists by joining us April 5th as a reviewer or a runner. For more information, contact Cheri Baker at shoestringcomm@comcast.net.

  1. I’m definitely not where I thought I’d be, but I’m not unhappy about where I am! This field is so vast, yet our educations are so focused; it’s hard to know where you’ll end up. But as long as your happy, it’s a great journey.
