GFAF Wins First Place for Public Service at AAF National
A BIG Congratulations goes out to the GFAF’s Public Service Director and Committee for their outstanding contributions to the community this past year. We are happy to announce that Lisa Gorham, Public Service Director, along with the GFAF Public Service Committee won FIRST PLACE for Public Service in the annual American Advertising Federation’s National Club Achievement Competition. Surpassing all other AAF clubs in our club’s division of division four. We would like to recognize those who made this achievement possible: a BIG thank you must go out to Lisa Bradshaw of Immersion Active and Erin Biles of Flying Dog Brewery for their countless hours and tireless efforts; to our MANY monetary and in-kind sponsors who helped us make this accomplishment possible; and to EVERYONE who helped us reach this achievement, THANK YOU!!
Each year, the AAF honors top clubs in eight categories: advertising education, communications, diversity, government relations, club operations, membership, programs and public service. The AAF’s definition for the Public Service competition category: Projects that effectively use advertising techniques to support local, regional and/or national programs on behalf of public interests and/or community betterment.
Here is what some of the judges had to say about the GFAF’s Public Service entry:
“Outstanding service, creativity and execution. Nicely done on all areas of the campaigns.”
“Beautifully done submission. True testament to the creativity of volunteerism to effect change. Bravo!”
The GFAF will be honored with the THE G.D. CRAIN JR. MEMORIAL AWARD FOR PUBLIC SERVICE along with a cash prize.
All awards will be announced and presented at a special awards ceremony in conjunction with the AAF National Conference & ADDY Awards, June 10-12, 2010 in Orlando, Florida.
