Spotlight On: Tracy Brauner

I grew up in the rural “village” of Palm, Pennsylvania where I attended Upper Perkiomen High School from which I graduated as salutatorian in 2005. At Susquehanna University of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania I spent much of my freshman and sophomore years exploring graphic design and, arguably contradictorily, mathematics as areas of interest (the latter not without much harassment from my design peers).
I finally committed to graphic design once I really embraced it and found a passion for the subtle novelties, wit and originality that design has to offer. (Plus, I thrive on competition and I have yet to find competition that rivals graphic design!) Design is a boundless field and that’s exhilarating to me. I plan to spend my senior year really pushing my limits, stepping out of my comfort zone, and finding my own unique style, and I am forever grateful for my instructors and peers, and for their encouragement and belief in me.
I have one year left at Susquehanna and I have no idea where I’ll end up five years from now, let alone come May when I graduate, but I spent the summer interning at Sire Advertising in Selinsgrove, and I got a little taste of the real world. I’m excited to put myself out there, explore all of my options, and eventually find my niche in the world of design. I don’t think I could ask for anything more.
