Thanks to the GFAF members and non-members who generously donated to the troops care packages (you know who you are). The public service committee was able to box up 12 care packages FULL of various comforts from home. We cannot even begin to express to you what these donations mean to these men and women. Instead, here is a letter from just one of the servicemen that we sent packages to.

Dear Lisa,I want to thank you and your advertising club for sending the items to my unit. We are located at an outpost in an isolated region of Afghanistan where we have no access to a PX or any of the small amenities people enjoy back home. We are so isolated that our food and drinking water is parachuted into us and our mail comes by helicopter about every 2-weeks. You cannot imagine how good it feels to have a new toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, and some of the other things that were sent that we run out of and cannot get here. Please extend our heartfelt thanks to all the members of the Greater Frederick Advertising Federation, for it is through the generous and thoughtful support of the American people back home that we have the courage and morale to endure the daily fight and struggle to survive here in Afghanistan.
